I added another 1/2 cup of flour and that helped a little but still the middle never set - I think the amount of oil in the recipe caused that problem. I am so sorry Michelle but these just didnt work for me.

It may have worked if it was a little sweeter or had cream in it, I dont know. The tartness of the orange juice just made the coffee a little unpalatable to my taste buds. I made this last week and again this week and it was so easy and delicious. I also couldnt find the spicy sauce so I tried the Thai Sweet Chili Sauce and it was really good. The serving size for two people was way too small for my boyfriend and I so I doubled it when I made it again. I was trying to find something good to go along with it and settled on cream cheese rangoons and it went really well. The meal is very light and crisp and I will definitely keep making it.

This was a great recipe. im only giving it 4 because i want to give room one day for a 5. you need to use the korean chili paste though. that is critical to get the right flavour. i also used a whole chicken and a jalepeno pepper. i didnt remove all the skin from the chicken but left some on. i also put a little sour cream in and a touch more white wine and a touch of lemon. mostly because this dish needs to taste fresh but solid. thanks for the great recipe. and make sure you get the correct chili pase. i got mine from ujimaya.

We made this according to the recipe and found it a little bland. The veggies and apple seem to soak up more of the gochujang than the chicken. We want to try this again but next time I am going to add more gochujang and marinate the chicken in the wine, gochujang, peppers and garlic beforehand.

I served it over white rice and that didnt seem to add anything to the dish. 6 eggs

cup sweet pickle relish
1 (9 ounce) can solid white tuna packed in water, drained
teaspoon dried dill weed
1 teaspoon salt

How to Make Rice Salad
In a saucepan bring water to a boil. Add rice and stir. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove from heat, and set aside to cool.
Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil and immediately remove from heat. Cover and let eggs stand in hot water for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from hot water, cool, peel and chop.
Rinse frozen peas under cold water. Strain, and place in a large mixing bowl. Add eggs, rice, celery, onions, and pimiento; toss to combine, and set aside. In a separate bowl, stir the mayonnaise together with mustard, lemon juice, relish, tuna, dill, salt, and pepper until well blended. Add to the vegetable mixture, and toss to combine. Cover, and refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours. Toss once more before serving. Serve chilled.

I never have 9 oz. cans of tuna around, so had the fun of converting this over to a 5 oz. (I dont trust the converter here.) I think I was pretty close. I left out the pimento, which I dont care for, and finely chopped some plain pickle for the relish. Everything else as is. This was pretty good and tasted much like a tuna salad, but I liked that it was moist, unlike a lot of tuna salads. If I make again Ill probably halve the peas. I dont like peas, but theyre good for me so Ill take advantage of the opportunity to get them inside me hiding in a spoonful of something else, cause theyre kinda inconspicuous that way. :-) But ... too much.
Since I didnt have pimentos, I used about 1/3 cup salsa instead and omitted the mustard and relish. Turned out pretty good, not stellar. But who expects stellar from tuna, anyway?

This is a great recipe. During the summer I make a different salad every week just to have on hand in the fridge. Much less dense than potato salad. I did use the recipe for the dressing I put in my potato salad but other than that everything else was the same. TRY THIS ITS EXCELLENT.

It was 37 deg (C) here in our area of Australia today and I was looking for something cool to serve. This was terrific. My husband is a notoriously slow eater and wolfed this down. I did make a couple of changes. We are vegetarians so I used a tin of chick peas (rinsed) instead of tuna. Also, I did not have any pimento so used sun-dried tomatoes instead. I used basmati rice and chilled for a few hours before serving. This will be a regular summer dish for us.
I added a can of shrimp, drained instead of the tuna, omitted the pimentos & mustard & lemon juice. It was great
This definately needs 2 cans of tuna. I added carrots along with the peas and it was still lacking a bit so I added corn. I would make this with a can of peas/carrots and a can or corn. Either that or a can of mixed veggies. Me and my husband are debating that. Other than that we liked it the way it is.
Great make ahead salad Our family enjoyed this salad which reminds me both of a tuna salad and potato salad (although there are no potatoes, people think its in there). Great side salad for a potluck or as a light summertime meal.
My 12 yr old said " smells good ,can I try it?"...now thats saying something..we loved it ..but I think it could use some garlic salt plus more dill.. and I didnt use tuna...used chopped cooked chicken and it came out great.
This was a very good salad. Very tasty. I followed the recipe except did not add the tuna, was using the salad as a side dish, also only used 2 eggs, thought 6 would be too many, it might have been but 3 eggs would have been perfect for me. Will make this again
Great and easy recipe. I had a lot of rice leftover after an unfortunate rice cooker mishap. I substituted peas with corn and did not have diced pimento or dill weed, otherwise I did not change anything else, and the salad came out great. I will definitely make it again sans substitutions or missing ingredients . Easy and delicious , Thank you .

We love salads in our house, and made as directed, this one is a keeper for us. Its easy to prepare and tastes great. And, like many salads, its easily tweaked to meet ones own tastes.

I love this recipe. I was skeptical at first, but its currently 88 degrees and very humid, and I needed a quick recipe that didnt require the oven. I did make a few changes based on what I had in the house, no pimentos, no lemon juice, 2 cans of tuna, no dill weed, only 4 eggs, only used 3/4ths of cooked rice, no celery, added only 2 cups of peas and carrots.
I was looking for a side dish besides the usual potato/macaroni salad and ended up being pleasantly surprised I was a bit nervous about trying this because I thought the sweet relish/dill combo wasnt going to mesh well. The only changes I made were to substitute half of the mayo with plain greek yogurt (Im weird about a lot of mayo...) and swapped out the tuna for a little bit of crumbled bacon. Will definitely save this recipe
07-05-16 Looking for something different, I came across this recipe. Weve never tried a rice salad, and we did enjoy it. I steamed my rice in the rice steamer and then proceeded with the recipe, omitting the pickle relish. as we are not fans of relish in our salads. This had a nice flavor and the leftovers held up well. I shared this with my parents and they enjoyed it, also.
I made this as stated, but I used red pepper instead of pimentos. I made it lighter. I used Light Mayo, brown rice and left out the salt. This reduced the nutrient count as follows: 234 calories, 17 carbs.
Pretty good, although I forgot the peas. I added corn instead, think peas would have been better, but we enjoyed it anyway. Nice light fare.
I omitted the mayonnaise since I cant have it but you can use 2 Tbsp of olive oil. I also used the leftover chicken from dinner the night before instead of the tuna. Add fresh vegetables instead of frozen, but cut them rather small.
I didnt add mustard, peas or celery, it was ok, not great. Might have been better if I followed the recipe closer, but I adjusted it for Meditteranean diet. Not used to the rice texture in a tuna salad. If I make it again, Ill just make it as tuna salad. Added sour creme. Used a lot less of the asked for measurements (for only one can of tuna.)

My three boys ate this up I was surprised since they are usually not excited about eating new meals. I didnt have relish or dill and I only used about a cup of peas and 5 eggs, since it was all I had. I also did not measure the uncooked rice and ended up throwing in about 6 cups of cooked rice to fill us up. It was yummy Will make again for sure.
Made this for a neighborhood dinner, everyone raved about it and asked for the recipe. I left out the relish and cut back on the onion, but otherwise no changes.

Bean, Bacon and Pepper Soup
An easy, quick and hearty soup thats great in winter. Tasty with garlic bread or melba toast and even better the next day. You can adjust all the seasonings to personal taste.
Bean, Bacon And Pepper Soup Ingredients
5 slices bacon
3 onions, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon white sugar
teaspoon ground black pepper
teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
4 cups chicken broth
2 (15 ounce) cans cannellini beans, with liquid
cup chopped parsley
How to Make Bean, Bacon And Pepper Soup
In a large pot over medium high heat, saute the bacon until crisp. Drain the fat, leaving about 2 tablespoons in the pot. Crumble the bacon, reserving for later for garnish. Add the onions, carrots, red bell pepper, celery and garlic to the pot and saute in the bacon fat for 10 minutes.
Stir in the sugar, ground black pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, bay leaf, thyme and Worcestershire sauce. Now pour in just a small amount of chicken stock to deglaze the pan. (Note: This removes all of the caramelized particles from the bottom of the pan.)
Add the beans and the rest of the stock and continue to cook over medium high heat for 10 to 15 minutes, or until all vegetables are tender.
In a food processor or blender, puree 3 cups of soup at a time, adjusting seasoning if necessary. Return all pureed soup to the pot, stir in the parsley and crumbled bacon and simmer for 10 more minutes.

Loved this, tho I did change it up a bit by using the immersion blender on only about half of this, leaving the rest of all that beautiful color and texture of the vegetables alone. If prepared as written this is a pureed soup that wouldnt have appealed to me nearly as much. Its incredible to me what a robustly flavorful soup can be had so easily, in so short a time and with so few, basic ingredients. The bacon, garlic, red peppers and thyme each have a signicant contribution and all the flavors meld so well, including the odd Worcestershire sauce I had some chopped rotisserie chicken in the freezer that I tossed in at the end - really delicious (especially if you dont puree the whole potful)
Delicious I love beans but my boyfriend is not the biggest fan so I added more bacon for a compromise - doubled the amount actually.As I was cooking it I was thinking that there were a lot of vegetables in there, and when I added the beans and saw the ratio I was worried that the veggies would overpower the beans taste. But it came out wonderful: the tastes blend so well that you actually cant pick out any of their individual flavours.After blending, the soup gets a wonderful babyfood-like quality that makes it so very comforting. Wow A pretty quick, delicious meal we enjoyed after a busy day of packing... it was easy to throw together with things I had on hand and am trying to use up. I halved the recipe and it made about 3 servings as a main dish (served simply with homemade cornbread muffins). I realize now I forgot the bay leaf and omitted the sugar. I also used white navy beans, as its what I had in my pantry. I followed the direction of Naples and only pureed about half the mixture, as I prefer to have some of the texture of the beans and veggies. YUM
This is a delicious soup. Changes I made: I added a lot more bacon. This makes a lot of soup, so I used a whole package of bacon. I used less parsley (Italian) than called for, about 1/3 cup. Depending on your taste, you may want to add a bit of salt. The carrots and red bell pepper do add some sweetness.

This soup is unbelievably good The whole family, kiddos too, absolutely loved this- that is a rarity in this house I was short on veggies, only had one onion, and two stalks celery. This is a great, versatile recipe. My husband loved it, which is a plus since hes generally a picky eater. I made a few changes, simply because I didnt have all the ingredients on hand. I Substituted the cannellini beans with lentils, and did not include the Worcestershire. It turned out wonderfully anyways, and Ill definitely be making it again.
Under ingredients, I put in bell pepper, bacon and chicken because thats what I needed to use up. This recipe came up and I made it doubling the bacon and adding chicken thighs cut into bite size pieces a yellow and a orange bell pepper. I hate beans and am not too fond of thyme. I left the beans out but the flavor or the thyme and bay leaf were strong so I added a 1/4 cup of white wine and a can of summer crisp corn. I then thickened it with some of the bacon dripping and flour. I know its a serious departure from the original recipe but it was really, really good.

This is a great winter soup The flavors are perfect together. I didnt have cannellini beans so I used canned pinto and it was awesome. We ate the whole pot in one sitting. I also pureed 2/3s of the soup so as to leave some beans whole and to give it more interest. Thanks Deserie

Yum I also blended only half of the soup as I like it chunky. I made this soup plus a white chicken chili for a Fall luncheon I hosted. I served it with some fresh baked rolls and grape pie for dessert. This soup was the most popular of the two. It has several layers of flavor that are distinct from each other but marry so well together. I made it the night before and simply reheated it the next day on the stove. Easy peasy. I could not find cannelloni beans so used Northern beans and it was still fabulous. I also added a little more bacon only because I knew Id eat it all if I didnt
Oh boy....really good stuff I made mine using 1 lb dry great northern beans rather than canned beans. I rinsed the beans thoroughly then put them in a pressure cooker with 10 cups of water. I pressure cooked them for 8 min on high, then let the steam naturally release for 15 min. I prepared and added the remaining ingredients (except the chicken broth, I substituted 4 tsp chicken bouillon) and cooked on high pressure for another 20 min, allowing for a natural release afterward. I removed about 1 1/2 cup of beans/veggies with a strainer then used my immersion blender to coarsely chop the rest, returning the beans and adding bacon at the end. I skipped the parsley because I didnt have any. This may seem to be a more difficult way to make this, but its a great + yummy option for those who have dry beans to use up. This made 6-8 large servings.
We really loved this recipe. I screwed up at first by dumping everything but the bacon in a pot. I cooked the bacon in the oven. Realized my mistake so I drained the veggies in a strainer and squeezed out as much juice as I could. Then sauted it. Put back in the juice. I had already put a can of beans in the food processor and the other can in the juice. I add one more can of beans and used a pound of bacon. Since I didnt saut the veggies in the bacon grease I add a tablespoon to the soup
10.31.19 I only had one can of cannellini beans, so I used a can of great northern beans for the second one. I cut my veggies pretty small, so they cooked up quickly. When I have bean soup, I want to see the beans and the veggies, so I did not puree this and Im glad that I didnt. Only made one addition, and that was adding 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Surprising how that small amount of sugar enhances the flavor, just a subtle hint of sweetness in an otherwise savory soup. This is a delicious, hearty soup with layers of interesting flavor. Theres a lot of chopping veggies involved, but its worth the effort. Thoroughly enjoyed this, and to think it comes from two cans of beans

Wow, this was really good Picky husband pronounced it, delicious. Didnt use red pepper or celery - didnt have any. Used two small finely-chopped leeks in place of half the onion. Didnt use the sugar (spaced), and didnt puree - just smashed a bit with a potato masher. I was leery of the Worcestershire but went for it. This soup tastes great Cooked three slices of bacon instead of five to cut down on the fat. I used one large onion instead of three and added a fresh jalapeo because I like it spicy and used cilantro instead of parsley. Instead of four cups of chicken broth I used six and left it chunky because it seemed like the right thing to do. The spices were fine the way they were except I left out the onion powder. I tried one bowl with some andoullie sausage and that was also very good. Would make it again.

It was okay. A little bland. Although I pureed it in my food processor, the texture was still not as smooth as Id like. I just noticed it says its even better the next day, but I froze the leftovers. Maybe it will be better the next time.
So glad I doubled the recipe I used a whole pack of bacon because. . .bacon. Used 4 cups of broth and used an immersion blender just to thicken it up a bit. My husband is going to love having a hot dinner to come home to

Yum I switched it up bit. Since I didnt have cannelini beans I used a combination of great northern and garbanzo beans, as well as some roasted yellow peppers I had left over along with the juice to substitute for the red pepper. Since the peppers were already cooked I waited to add them at the halfway point during the vegetable cooking time. This gave the soup another layer of flavor. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
My new favorite soup Upped the Cayenne pepper a little and it had a delicious Heat . Only half of it ....I like the bean texture.

This was good. I halved the cayenne and it was still pretty spicy. Any more would have been too much for us. We ate with grilled cheese and dipped it in the soup, delish
